- The TSI Battle Graphic Station was developed for the combat simulation and
- modeling functions of operations research organization in government and
- defense-related industry. Three functional phases of combat modeling and
- analysis are provided: Preprocessing (scenario development), Simulation of
- Combat (model execution), and Postprocessing (data analysis). Each functional
- phase includes separate software modules as follows
-
- Preprocessing: A Terrain Analysis System provides a means of displaying and
- analyzing digital terrain, including feature data. A Scenario Generation System
- provides an interactive, automated method of developing scenarios including
- force laydown on two high resolution color graphics screens. A Database
- Development System is an interactive database development system that
- incorporates the Ingress Relational Database and the RS-1 graphical
- representations
-
- Simulation: A variety of combat models are supported, and custom data
- interfaces are available for customer provided combat models. Among those
- currently integrated by TSI are the TANKWARS model developed by AMSAA and the
- TSI Duels model
-
- Postprocessing: A Battle Analysis System event history file from combat
- simulation provides the data which the analyst uses to evaluate the performance
- of the weapon system of interest. A Battle Playback System event history files
- integrates with the Battle Graphics Station to prove a means of visually
- following the battle, including firings and kills, on the terrain database of
- the scenario. Publication and Documentation System interfaces with both
- preprocessor and post processor functions to provide postscript graphics
- printer interfaces for output of the graphical screens, including terrain
- contours and perspective views.
